I write the songs that no one hears
You've never opened up
And you've been holding back for years
Tears through your hand
Fears that you have
Lay it all out
Re-live it again

At first it's hard
You leave yourself so exposed
You show your true colors
And everybody knows
So exposed
And so ashamed
You change so much
Yet stay the same

You hear it all the time
Your feelings are your own
Cold, dark, un-natural
Leave them alone
No one should feel the way you do
But you do
