Dare to Dance?

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You took me to a fast
And we made it last
You were surprised I let you
If only you knew the truth

Then you grab me from behind
(and scared me out of my mind)
‘You’re dancing with me next slow,’
And then you released your hold

Soon ‘Enter Sandman’* is played
The song I listen to every day
The song I love, and you hate
I decided to rub it in your face

I came to you and started to sing
And then ‘I win, their playing my thing’
You just smiled and pulled me to you
And then you and I started to move
'This is the only time I'll listen to them'
You told me as I dance in your arms

I’ve never had so much fun,
Last night it felt like I won
Like I finally did something right
And my reward was a terrific night

And then the last slow started to play
So you found me and pulled me your way
The dance was the best ever
I will never forget it: never

* ‘Enter Sandman’ is one of my favorite songs and is sung be Metallica

AWW! do you always get the biggest smile when you see him? That was an adorable write and usually I am pulled towards the darker or sad poetry but I knew yours would be great.

Awwww sweetie! You deserve such an awesome night, and I'm so glad you got it!! Sounds like the perfect night, and with any luck, the beginning of a new form of relationship between you two...I enjoyed this read very much, and it kind of took me back to my grade 8 grad dance...lol Except mine was sad....Go figure! Nice job with this post : )
