SUMMER'S END

SUMMER'S END

My summers idly passed on the
seat of a two wheel bike,
I was a terrible tough tom-boy,
nothing lacelike.
If I came up missing, look for
my bike, I was near
Friends house, backyard, up
a tree, no footgear!

I can still feel the grass underfoot
between my toes, always barefoot.
Never had any human company
but was never lonely, carefree,
surrounding beauty,

Crawdad fish at Minnehaha park,
Big shining safety pins made me
the "Crawdad Shark!"
My 2 wheeler and me were free....
Errands, or just for fun, we
were always ready,.....

English Springer Spaniel dog named tag.
He was named perfectly, for that's
what he did best
My best friend, my kind, loveable rug of shag.
Loved chasing cats, n'er gave one a rest.

Each Summer we traveled side by side.
Our wondrous adventures of summer and
school would soon collide.
Walking to school, not allowed
your bike to ride.
My two wheel bike, and Tag
were cast aside at
Summer's end.

without summer"

The beautiful paintings are
by Robert Bateman,
An Artist from Canada.
His paintings are so fine
they look like photographs

We are yet to welcome summer here across the seven seas, but I sure can't wait for it though. The summer days and nights, walks on the beach, the ice-cream parlour so on. A delightful pleasure to read your great work ConSue.
*hugs*

Oh bicycles. Bicycles, One I had to give away, you probably know whose.
Mine us still stuck in a former rack, , but ride it - unimaginable.
Bikes evoke too many memories.
This is a great job Consue, but of course it makes me sad with all the bike memories.
How fortunate you are that the change of seasons weighs upon you.
Winderful write. this
Blessings to you
Elizabeth
