What I Miss

Contributed by Rose on Thursday, 10th November 2005 @ 09:39:26 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I miss being who I really am
Or who I use to be
I had a life of being needed
No one had ever impeded
I miss the feelings to give
The way it was to live
With another to share
The wants and needs of care
Of love and marriage
Of which mine had been ravaged
I miss having to tend a family
Viewing myself within their circle
I miss the closeness embracing me
Now its pain and loneliness I unfurl to
I pray for an answer
I’m happy to live and breathe
Thankful for what God enhanced here
I miss all that I did in life
I’m trying not to struggle in my strife
The pain from within
Is so raw, please; help me win
My battle of what was missing
So far I haven’t seen happiness
I’ve accepted my soul enlisting
Existing day by day, I encompass
Body strength, the mind’s eye
But not one sees a fragile inside
But my mind is sharp, the pain I hide
Have compassion of desire
From my heart I feel the fire
I don’t want to be alone anymore
Not even care of bills I ignore
I would rather have that settled time
With that special man to treat me fine
I miss a once upon a time story
I miss the sacred union of glory
I need to learn about love and fun again,
Please send me someone who can.
God did you miss my prayer
Or did I miss your answer, Where?
I look forward to something new
My resources are so limited
I’m only out for work and do what I have to
No car, so isolated, Internet is a gimmick!
So I ask you Lord, send Him to me
So I can once again be happy and free.

I can remember when I felt that way, today I am content in my singleness, and if the Lord came and took me away today I'd have no complaints.

A very well written and expressed piece of poetry that tells of ones deepest needs. Amber your need for love is so evident and clear. May your prayers be answered and may love reign in your heart once again.
*hugs*

Rose,

The search for identity and fulfilment is life's most difficult task. and it seems that we must suffer in some way to reach the depths of our inner self. Your poem refledts this anguish. Whether or not we can be fulfilled alone or with another best it is not always possible to tell. But you now sound as if you are well on your way.

Robert Davidson.

I could feel the confusion and questioning in this write. Life can be brutal can't it my friend?

Your R&R got a little out of focus in the middle and ending but the emotional power made up for it.

Well done
Roses
