I Am A Poet.

I am a poet through and through,
Phrases, similes and rhymes all accrue,
Collecting within my mind, more strength, more power
This language is all mine to devour.
A vastness like the universe,
Everything taken is reimbursed
Black holes to send writers block,
Planets rings hold the key to unlock,
The vivid imagination lying within,
Dispersed like an open sin.
These words are mine to steal,
Waiting for me to deal,
Them to the poker players of poetry,
And the verses grow like a tree,
Dropping roots in the mind
Where later you do find,
Them waiting there, ready to grow and sprout
Poetry? It’s not full of doubt,
Let my fingers do the thinking,
And my mind will do the linking,
Of word to word and syllable
All these questions they are answerable,
Soon as my heart and soul are written,
In a way that leaves me bitten
For in that black ink,
There is a special link
Straight to my heart
And I can’t make it depart,
For there lies all my talent,
It’s what makes me so gallant,
Yet even if I could, the link would stay,
For it is as I say,
I am a poet through and through
And these words? They are true.
