I miss how it felt,
living in a cliche
The feeling that I met
When my heart began to ricochet
Off my lungs and into my mouth
Followed by such graceful descent
Into the depths I've come to call love
Into your arms I've come to call home
Into your hearts I'd come to call my own
But home is gone
The one I found in your eyes
And the smile that danced
With such sweet disguise
They left with the days of idleness
That we'd happened upon by such careful chance
The memories come drifting back
On a hint of smoke
Spilling my heart to a phone
The tears, they choke
Realization lands hard as a blow to the chest
It tugs painfully;
From a sweater comes a thread
It's not you I miss
It's the running
It's not your arms I long for
It's the silence
It's not your tears, your smile, your words
It's not your hair, your hands, your clothes
It's the happiness
That we never had
But we came so ******* close

Wow powerful. Don't think that the fword adds to it, but still very well done and powerful! |
