We’ve got a Maui campervan,
It’s decked out pretty good.
We dug a hole to have a fire,
The kids collected wood.
We’re at the High side Campground,
For the Phillip Island Moto GP.
We’re here for the motorbikes,
It’s the Polini Australian Grand Prix.
We arrived here on the Thursday,
Around mid-afternoon
There weren’t many people here when we arrived,
But the campground was filled pretty soon.
We’ve neighbours all around us
We share the same power supply.
We’re also sharing the fire,
I tell you mate, this is the life.
The atmosphere’s really bonza,
With fireworks going off as we eat.
People from all over the world have gathered
To be here for this motorbike meet.
It’s more than just camping.
It’s camping with style.
We’ve got a cosy van to sleep in.
And outdoor entertainment all the while.
For the next three days this place will be home.
This is an experience unlike any I’ve known.

Nice write. Not into the motorcross thing, but my husband and two kids...ages 3 and 9 go to musical festivals with camping for 2-3 days. Lots of wonderful hippies (we're deadheads). It's great getting together with fellow brethren. Peace, Laura |
