Can you measure a man
Without looking at his heart?
Is he still just as whole
Despite what you take apart?
You can say my name
But never phantom the man
Who are you to judge
When I'm doing all I can
I could tell you my story
And you'll never hear a word
Cause all along
You were distracted
With what you never heard
You were looking at
The direction of my hat
And the sag in my jeans
Instead of what really makes me
Cause despite what you see
You never begin
To measure me

I can't measure the man so I will measure the poem. The poem measures up, good write!Just one thing though, in line six do you mean 'phantom' or 'fathom the man'? Well done anyway.
Cheers, Jenny. |

A lesson well put. I loved this, and the truth behind it. If we were to all look deeper, this would be a much cooler place to be. Great job!
Be well,

There's a song, in the musical Rent, that describes this feeling, in sadder overtones, but I think you capture it just as well...in more contemporary thoughts... keep your chin up... |
