goodbye to the dad i never knew

i dont understand why
she told you and then you were gone
i wasnt even born barely even there at all
i never got to be held by you
never even got an "i love you"
then came my chance i would get to see you for the first time
but you blew it when you said "i never wanted you"
i was too younge to react but i knew what you ment
if you only knew what i have been through not having you around
not getting to run to you when mommy told me no
you were never there to kiss my scraped elbow
i always think its my fault that your gone
but do you realize the hell i've been through, dying to know who my dad is?
mom has always told me it was your loss
and i believe her
anyone can be a dad but it takes someone speacial to be a father
which i dont think you could be...not to me anyway
just at some point in your life try to think about what you did
how you hurt me
how those words yank at my heart everyday
making me feel like im really not wanted
if only you could see the tears that have fell from my eyes
if only you knew how much i hate and despise you
when i get married your not going to give me away
i wont even let you around that day
you'll see in time what you've missed
you'll never even get one little kiss
you'll never get to see that twinkle in my eye
the same one you have
you'll never even realize what i've grown to be
just think we could have been a real family
its hard to think i dont want you around
but look at how you've put me down
you did this to yourself
i guess this is good bye to the dad i never knew

Your feelings are expressed really well and I can see how you feel. My theme in life is the power of the tongue can bring life or death--and in your case the words your dad spoke to you brought death and what could have been a wonderful relationship! I just pray you will have happiness for the rest of your days!

Your words do cut to the chase in your true feelings. I am sorry this had happened to you. He did blow it, but you have this time in life now to move on and be more and share your life of wisdom to others. Your pain is obvious. Please take solace in knowing your mother did all she did and well. release all of your anger and pain now, healing will take place, if you want it to. Good write, emotional and tough. Painful and angry, and wishful thinking somewhere in there... But for now, you wrote this to help you move on and learn more of lifes lessons.
