The complicity of desire that set our hearts on fire,
That longing for that burnt out flame,
The fear that those feelings cannot be found again
The calming notion of a steady ocean,
With no sinking ships and hurricanes,
So pull up the anchor and take to the nest
As we float on top gain.
The pieces of my puzzle you put back together
Making it easier to climb my ladders than falling down snakes
All the words that were scrabbled are coming together
Treading carefully I’ll avoid making new mistakes
The beauty of a calming day,
No concerns of you floating away
Like a moth to a flame
The light is still bright
So if disappear
You return again
Thank you for all that you have given me
For I realise now – it is simplicity
So to show you my gratitude for everything you do
I bought you this bucket and spade,
Because I really like you
