We alighted from the train on Tuesday morning.
Without much sleep, we were still yawning.
Saying farewell to those we had met.
Waiting for the car, is it off the train yet?
In South Australia now, though we’re just passing through
We’re headed for Victoria, there are things we want to do.
We’re driving out of Adelaide on the Duke's Highway.
It’s going to take ten hours to reach Coronet Bay.
We’ll stay with some friends who moved there two years past.
Ours is a friendship, over distance, which can last.
Once there we shall rest for a couple of days.
Go to the local beach, take in a few rays.
Then it’s off to Philip Island for the next leg of our tour.
For us the Moto GP is the island’s main allure.
There are other things also for families to do.
There’s the Koala Conservation Centre and the Penguin Parade too.
There’s a place called ‘A Maze ’N Things’ that makes for a top day.
With mazes to negotiate and a mini golf course to play.
But first we have to get there so we’re driving in the car.
With good music to sing along to, it shouldn’t feel so far.
