fine then i dont care

Contributed by lostrelic on Monday, 7th November 2005 @ 07:15:13 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

it really hurts when you try so hard to give the people respect that is due
but watching my poetry day seeing that my motives dont get threw
you put your heart day after day in the words you write
to find out that others are to busy to comment is that right
why do i show you respect to read your stuff all day
to find out that its a family place and strangers to keep at bay
my comments arnt good are my poems to sad
no happy bunnies nothing to glad
but that is my poetry like it or not
im just trying to get the proper response

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, while I still don't think it's anything personal, it may just be by coincidence you're poems are over looked. I know I don't read to many, but the one's I read I usually post a comment on, if I feel, I have something important to say or just to say good write. A lot of people I'm sure are in the same situation as you, were there poem's are not getting read, but you must remember there are many poem's posted, and not many users actually come on. I'm sorry you feel like you're getting disrespected but in all honesty I don't think it's intentional. Hope things start looking up, great write.

I agree with Cassy, I dont think its intenetional. Alot of my stuff gets overlooked as well, and I'm pretty sure quite a bit of its ended up on the "least read" list. But still, I highly doubt its intentional, so maybe try writing more captivating titles. Alot of time people just glance over titles to decide whether or not theyre going to read said poem.

well when you write for it to be read, you arent truely writing for yourself. but if you wish to write to be read, then i suppose you should think about making good titles, something worth reading, something people can relate to, something that has some meaningful philosophy, write something emotional, make better comments, create a fan basis, make friends on the site, and/or make good descriptions.

For me, Reading the poems here are mostly random choices-
Often I choose because of a word in the title-
If you are true to yourself in your writting then it should not matter if anyone reads what you have to say-
I would be honored to read your work and I will comment on it-
I offer no advice save this: Write with your heart and not your mind as thoughts tend to change but feelings remain the same always...

There are many talented writers on this site. I am so glad its free to all of us. although I do pay, I like to support this site as it allows you to write as you did in this write, as it caught my eye. You have your opinion and it does count. I do not have natural talent in writing, I do so in my healing and from my heart. if folks read it, that is fine, and comment that is ok too. If not, its not personal to me. I realize its tough to go thru all the writes as they come in so fast with so many to keep up with. I took a break for a while to do things in my life as I couldn't write much. But I did stop in now and then to comment on writes. I do not beleive its intentional you do not get comments or reads. I read for what catches my eye in what I want to read. However, if you choose to email me your link to read your writes, I will be honored to do so. Many of the writers on here will email a link to thier friends for them to read and comment on thier writes. Perhaps some advice you like to follow and try it out. You write as you do so in your heart, and remember, not to be hurt if no one is there, but use emails to help your thoughts get across to those you want to read your writes. WE all can count our blessings this is free to post our writes let alone anyone to read them. I am very lucky to even have this option. take care and let friends and family know of your writes, email them alink to read them.

I guess I would sub title your writeTrue Grit, as it took some courage and risk to post this poem regarding your feelings on this matter. I would just emphasize that you are not alone. I get frustrated with not getting more reads and/or comments, as I appreciate the feedback. However, I agree with others that we should really write for our selves. It is very time consuming, as you have experienced. I hope you can come to terms with this, and achieve an inner peace.

Thanks for sharing, this is a relevant subject for many of us.

Will

most of my writes go on cd. I value my writes, they are not what most would say poetry, although I write for the Lord. Do not feel bad. Stay within your hearts enthusiasm and write joy, where most cannot live in it, you write in it Raquel Leah

well, i dont comment a lot mainly because i'm not mainly here to read. mainly, i'm here to write. yeah, comments are nice, but you cant live for them. just be happy that you wrote it and that you can look back and be like "beautiful..." cheer up, i'm sure you're an awesome poet.
