Shadows of Death

Contributed by sride686 on Monday, 7th November 2005 @ 07:14:11 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Inexplicable realism when did it start
Shadows of sorrow alone in my heart
Death in my grasp as I feel its cold gasp
Taking each breath as if it’s my last

Life is perfection within our dreams
But in the end its only hate we see
Disgust for ourselves and all of our kind
That’s why we kill as we cross each line

Life….It’s not life but a living hell
A place called earth were we continue to dwell

Bitter thoughts from my bitter sins
Distaste for my life as the journey ends

A crimson love that starts to flow
To bring the end of a life we know

Feel his touch as he embraces your mind
The reapers thoughts for it is your time
Cold chills shiver up your spine
A whisper of death that feels divine
For it’s the end of the pain that’s in your mind
Of living this life as humankind

~Steve~

wow. i can totally correlate to the notions which you present (with smooth flow and rhyme).
A clever personification of death itself..something so omnipresent and ever co-existing with life. Both tangent and intangible...a concept almost unfathomable to the human mind.
i thoroughly enjoyed this piece...
Thank you for sharing.

Wow. Deep. And...almost a little sad. More melancholic than anything, but I liked the different tang of the emotion.
~A crimson love that starts to flow~
Great line, and great poem!

This one was beautifully written, the flow was amazing and the words that you write are so true to yourself and your emotions. You share the deepest of thoughts that everyone feels at one time or another, but you do it so well. Another FABULOUS write by my hubbie.
