The Wings of Vengeance
From times remembered
And those lost to ignorance
Such pride to enact violence
has offered weakness
But granted strength in exchange
Such is the pale heart of man
Stricken but clinging
Ravaged but vengeful
The trembling hand
The aching heart
Such cries rend the Mind
As actions do lives
These are the fragile wings of Vengeance
Those which rise us above others
That which emboldens the meek
And imparts fear
As Icaros, hand in hand with Death
Ambition is mans greatest flaw
Ever hastening the death that all may share
Broken upon our own will
We are slaves to emotion
Blinded by the ever present I
What fall do we suffer that does not echo
What Sin do we not oblige that is not shared
Such is the sickening bond
The draining touch of our kin
These are the glass wings that show us heaven
But drive us to Hell
