Shackled to a basement floor
The vibrations of footsteps
Fading away
As master takes a break from play.
Struggling blindly
Freedom held
Naked to all comforts
Covered in pain and ignorance
Tick, Tock, Drip, Drop
Waiting, lying, hoping, dying
Dangling on suspenseful dread
Praying master deems not too come back
The agonising seconds past
The straining of the senses
Like a kitten on high alert
From canine come a-hunting
This little fly
Embroiled in spiders silken trap
This little butterfly
Nailed by collectors pin
To trap a beauty rare
And to preserve what is never yours
To degrade the façade
Until she blends in the norm
Shackled to a basement floor
The vibrations of footsteps
Approaching slowly
As master comes back to slave.
