Never Again

Topic: AngryPoetry

You told me all you wanted
Is a second chance
And that's all you ever wanted
I gave you that
More than once
I tried to give you more than I had to give
But nothing I did was never good enough for you

You crushed me underneath your weight
You tried to break me
You tried hard to make me yours
But I never was

Never again
Will you call me mine
You stopped me from being
Who I really was
You made me feel worthless
Like I was nothing
You say you cared
You never really did
Never Again

I only stayed with you
Because you conditioned me
To think that
I had nowhere else to go
Never again

Never again
Will you hold me back
I am stronger than you
Stronger than you'll ever be
I am independent
I am wild and free
An unbroken spirit
You can never stop me
From being who I really am

You will never again hold me back
You wil never again hold me down
You will never stop me from being
Who I want to be
I am better than you'll ever be
I'm moving on
To bigger and better things
Things that you'll never get to experience

You are the darkness that binded my spirit and soul.
Slowly I am breaking free of the years of torment and self-denial
You have caused me.
I have two constant reminders of that life.
They were the only light I had in a dark and dejected world.
Never Again will you make me feel the way I have felt

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
