As I lie at night and think of you,
I ask my heart mind what should I do,
I thought my love would never end,
Until I met a special friend.
Like a ray of light in a world do dark,
She did, still does, wake my sleeping heart,
Love gives you that one special song,
To pick one for my love it would do her wrong.
Each kiss so sweet, seems to end in pain,
At times in feels like a twisted game,
One day, it’s great I’m a millionaire,
The next, it seems like she doesn’t care.
To watch her dance is to fall in love,
A beauty greater than the whitest dove,
She says one thing and means another,
Still not sure if we are lovers.
I want to sort us out first,
But a hundred things she must do first,
She tells me things I just don’t believe,
So scared, my thoughts, her heart will leave.
We sit, we talk, and progress is made,
But I think, to think, she is afraid,
If she tells me what she needs,
I will try and give it, even bleed.
I ask her please sit and think,
Your feelings for me please make distinct,
A friend is someone that you do miss,
A love is someone that you would kiss.
Each hurt gives our love less a chance,
And so with it our romance,
A no be it your heart I’ll miss,
I’ll remember you with an endless list.
The times you ask me for a kiss,
Both drunk and sober I reminisce,
The eyes that say, you’re the one for me,
The times I thought we would be.
I’ll admit they were both good and bad,
And hand and hand both happy and sad,
I only wish I could recall them all,
I’ll be here all night from dusk till dawn.
Believe me please, my love is true,
Which is why at times I get so blue,
I mean not to give you pressure,
But the love I have is here forever.
