There's something I have to say,
And before you brush me aside,
I need to confess,
The feelings I hide.

I'm sorry I never told you,
How great I think you are,
How much I love your smile,
How I think you will go far.
I'm sorry...

We've been friends for quite awhile,
And I've watched all your mistakes,
The girls you bring home,
And all your heartbreaks.

I'm sorry I just held you,
And hugged you while you cried,
I longed for so much more,
I should've been your bride.
I'm sorry...

When you told me I was happy,
At least I tried to be,
You found "The One" you said,
That somehow wasn't me.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you,
How you make me feel complete,
How strong 'n handsome you are,
How you turn my sour, sweet.
I'm sorry...

I was there when you were fretting,
'Bout the labor of your wife,
And while I held your hand,
She gave birth to life.

I'm sorry that it wasn't me,
That gave you such a gift,
That kissed you every night,
That lived with you in bliss.
I'm sorry...

And when she fell sick that winter,
Oh those years and years ago,
She died in your arms,
And you cried in mine.

I'm sorry I couldn't tell you,
How I dreamed of you each night,
How I wish your arms were 'round me,
How you always felt just right.
I'm sorry...

I could never ever bring myself,
To marry another man,
You were my first choice,
That always was the plan.

I'm sorry I couldn't save you,
From that man the other day,
He took your money and your life,
I watched your spirit drift away.
I'm sorry...

Now I'm standing at your grave,
That's all of you that's left,
I've missed my dream of
forever, with your death.

I'm sorry I never told you,
Before it was too late,
I didn't take my chance...
Never leave it up to fate.
I'm so sorry...

I'm sorry I never said the words...

I'm in love with you.
