Lifes Footprints

From the time we are kids till we grow old,
We leave footprints behind as the stories are told,
Footprints from our ancesters follow behind,
footprints implanted in our heart & in our mind,
We leave our own footprints for our children to keep,
they give them to thier children & the impressions are deep,
No matter how fast or how slow we walk through life,
Footprints we'll leave behind,
No matter how hard or how soft we travel,they are planted in our mind,
I'm not talking about the footprints your feet leave,
but the footprints in our souls that our families conceive,
everything you do in life will leave an impression of some kind,
your children will take them on, for them to pass on down the line,
children watch & observe,the adults they see,
doing all what they do,
it's us who need to set the footprints for our family,
Footprints to last a life time in stone,
footprints you wont share alone,
make right choices,make mistakes,we learn from it all,
setting examples for others who will rise & fall,
our footprints are ours to share down the line,
I know one day my kids will walk in mine!

I just had to leave a comment! Haven't seen you on in a while as I haven't been on myself. I love the thoughts you relay in this poem. Such resounding truth! Keep up the writing, and it will leave a nice little footprint in your life. :-)

Christina I've missed ya girl. This is a well thought out and brilliantly penned piece of poetry.
our footprints are ours to share down the line,
I know one day my kids will walk in mine!
And so will my 4 kids in my footprints. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful poem with us Christina.
