The Soul-Mate

Contributed by SkillzWayAboveYours on Wednesday, 2nd November 2005 @ 06:59:42 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Maybe it was a test
To see how much I could handle
And I must say that I did my best
Because the flame of love lit like a candle
We were as one
And it was so great
It was a game that we had won
Yes, We were soul-mates
What is a soul-mate you ask
Well here is my answer
It's where the greatness of love has been surpassed
And you feel like walking on your tip-toes like a ballet dancer
There are no boundaries
Because with love you can do whatever
And it brightens your soul like the star Antares
Knowing that what you feel will last forever
Soul-mates... is it a gift or a curse
Sometimes I wonder
Because once your in love you cannot reverse
For if you do your heart will be torn asunder
So if you lose your soul-mate
Like I feel I have
How do you whipe the slate
And forget all of the laughs
Is it possible
Or am I just dreaming
The thought is just contemptible
And inside my heart is screaming
So where should my soul be leaning
For this test I have failed
Please forgive me
For all of my emotions are left unveiled
Now let my heart see
Every little detail
We were in love
But now we are lost
We used to see white doves
But now all we see is frost
Heal my heart
And please make it better
Because I guess i wasnt very smart
Thinking "Soul-Mates" meant forever

A sad and heartfelt write that brings a tear to the eye. I loved the rhyming and the flow of the poem absolutely sensational. I hope you can rekindle the beautiful love that you had. Goodluck and the very best of wishes to you.
*heart felt hugs*
