Little Nightingale

Contributed by Crimsonflame on Tuesday, 1st November 2005 @ 11:10:58 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Gentle lilting music milked from my sincere heart,
Words I put into music to soothe your soul,
You tell me,you and I cannot ever part,
That I am your nightingale that makes you whole.

I am your nightingale, caught in this cage,
Yet willing to support and sing for your ears,
You are my master,my loving sage,
I love nothing more than to sing away your fears.

Euphoric moments between you and me,
Loving you and believeing that my music will lure you,
Unfortunately,it was not meant to be,
For a gorgeous peacock wanted you too.

Now I am forgotten in this confined place,
For you have found your soulmate,
Someone that puts a smile on your face,
Someone that permanently sealed my fate.

This nightingale was never your true love,
For I am as transparent as the summer breeze,
I was just a special companion you love,
But not enough to hold or kiss.

I am the nightingale whom you cannot see,
Obscurred by a majestic bird colourful tail,
My master had set me free,
But all I want to do is stay in this cage,
To make my master look at me,
And learn to notice this little nightingale.

Such a beautiful write. As I was reading it I felt as if I was the nightingale. I think that is the best kind of poetry the kind that makes you feel like you are in it. Keep up the wonderful work.

A sad tale... Some loves just were never meant to be, though sometimes it just takes time. Maybe time will turn his ear to you.
Take care.
