Pat yourself on the back
You’re destroying her
She wants you to seek help
But you know better
Pat yourself on the back
You’ve made her feel used
She knows too well
How it feels to be abused
Pat yourself on the back
You’re a champ at drinking beer
Every time you start at the pub
The guys give you a loud cheer
Pat yourself on the back
You’ve done well
The bruises on her body
Have their own story to tell
Pat yourself on the back
The children fear you
If they tick you off
You beat them black and blue
Pat yourself on the back
You’re doing what your father used to
You swore you’d never be like him
But you’re doing everything you saw him do
