My Gloom

Contributed by strider on Monday, 31st October 2005 @ 01:33:41 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I am in a state of perpetual gloom
My life seem to be floating in a timeless doom
Clouds hover over me like blankets
And every hour looks to me the darkest
My thoughts are shrouded in dark clouds
I think only of people that I have hurt
And people who have hurt me
Happy thoughts have not served my purpose
Their help is but a lost hope!

I have tried to stir out of this path
But my mind is bent on this track.
I may have struck the wrong cord
And the tune has offended the gods
They seem to be saying “bad music”
And my punishment is this hopeless blue
I have never known life in this fashion
Never had reasons to have this passion
And no one is here to show compassion

I have begun a new day
But happiness is in no haste
It travels to me but in delay
It beckons not and carries on in waste
I have become a grouch, I am loosing my friends
Slowly, I am now their roach
Slowly, they are stamping me out in offence
Happiness must reach me now lest I die in defence

Really tragic and severe...

And the tune has offended the gods
They seem to be saying “bad music”

I like this line. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, Strider...

...gosh, do I feel for you...can't remember what I said last time, but this poem really describes the first fifty-three years of my tortured existence...

...dynamic psychological qualities of all the poetry on this site just blows me away...

...I find myself returning to my thoughts about Jim Cari's, "The Truman Show." Nobody experiences "Freedom" until they find and walk through their own personal "Truman's Door."

Hope you find your's soon...real soon...

I'm waiting on the other side! Good food! Open spaces! No roaches!

Felix this is a very sad and emotional write that brings tears to the eyes. So much pain and suffering through your words. Chin up my dear friend. I'm always here 4 you just like you are for me. A very well detailed and expressed piece of poetry. I wished it was a happier one though.
*heartfelt hugs to u dear friend*
