When I asked God,
For someone to love,
He promised me a friend.

When I asked for someone to cry on,
He said He’d give that friend
A shoulder.

When I asked for someone to talk to,
He said He’d give that friend
Two ears.

When I asked for someone to listen to,
He said He’d give that friend
A voice.

When I asked God for what he promised to me.
God blessed me,
By sending you.
