Somewhere in between the pain
The love and all the hurt
You slowly start to realize
Your own true self-worth
The years race by and you mature
With every heartache you face
And you live your life out on this earth
Knowing that someday you’ll be in a better place
The seasons come and go
And so do hometown friends
Lovers fade away with the tides
Your heart slowly learns how to mend
Our bodies ache and our souls grow weak
As we come to that final day
A single tear rolls down your cheek
As you use your last breathe to say-
“I thank the Lord for my time here
And the love I was able to share
I’m going up to Heaven now
Goodbye everyone, and take care”

I liked this- the last part holds the best thought- the love I was able to share-
a noble purpose here on earth |
