The Maze

Contributed by Ineedanap on Saturday, 29th October 2005 @ 12:17:12 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

i've run into a maze
Not remembering which way i've entered
Nor knowing how to get out
My mind races as i pace the walls
Looking for an exit, some type of escape
The paths i've tread are worn with footprints
Of those who led before me
And as i wander aimlessly through this maze
I come across the souls
Of those who never made it out
Their spirits fly beside me
Trying to guide me as i flee
From the horrific memories
Painted on the walls
There's one place i havn't tried
One place that i have yet to go
And as i reach toward that lighted exit sign
A wall rises up before me
I fall upon my knees
And look toward the spirits for guidance
They flee back into the maze
i'm left alone, to face my fears
The darkness and unknown
I'm left alone, once again
Determined to finish this maze whole

I like the descriptions. I think that if I tried hard enough, I could imagine the scene around me. Well done!
