It is One of Those days

Contributed by Lin54 on Friday, 28th October 2005 @ 01:04:09 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

It is one of those days -- it is one of those times
My body won't wake up -- not for 'reason nor rhyme'
My eyes keep fluttering shut so it seems
My mind keeps wand'ring in and out of dreams
An energy drink doth sit by my side
In hopes as I drink it, I'll become 'wide-eyed'
To carry two jobs seems a bit much these days
Just to make ends meet and get the bills paid
"No rest for the wicked," I've heard it oft said
But thoughts of more sleep keep drifting in my head
"I GOTTA wake up -- I GOTTA wake up," -- I keep telling me
'Drag-me-down-sleepiness' go away and please just let me be
"O Lord, I give up all this sleepiness to You!
I KNOW that with Your strength, my tired body will pull through!
To shine for those around me with the smiles You gave me to share
Then they will know that through You only -- their burdens You will bare!
Thank You, Lord, for the energy I now feel seeping in!
You're always there when I need You and also as my friend!"
So what more can I say and What more can I do
But to say: "Lord, You're the Best and again -- Thank You!"

When I get tired like that, I find it a blessing, for its then when I can be peaceful with the Lord, so close to Him, rest in His arms Linda... this is a beautiful prayer poem, and I send you blessings from Him.. in Jesus name.. amen..
