Wake up

selfstruggles
|
So many people don't think beyond the day,
And perhaps, they're absolutely right.
Why ponder if you can enjoy the moment,
Gliding smoothly over the pond of life?
Maybe, they are right and I am wrong,
For I believe the silent enemy is
Laziness of mind,
Which comes from sloth and blind acceptance,
Without questioning , without the least resistance.
The soul which llives in peace,
Not knowing either suffering or struggle,
Can not create,
Can not inspire,
Nor can hope to live...
A storm, a seething pot,
Filled with writhing contradictions
Must be inside one's soul and mind
To make a human be himself
Not only by birth,
But by challenging life itself.

powerful and convincing ideas
your poems dwell into the human phenomenon
of conflicting ideas ... which most on their own
lack in convincing methodology
but rather brings all the forces of human-ness
back to the same essential and fundamental idea ...
that as humans we're essentially nothing
unless we compete against laziness in the comfort zone,
with challanges
well thought out and written wae

The last two lines really reminded me of the way the Greeks of old thought; they brought meaning to their lives by fighting against fate.
And in the end, isn't that what we all do?
Good write! |
