you're a liar
if your hand in mine
isn't symbolic of obligation
then how are we breathing?
why..
so subtle and casual
our adventures away
from the native arms and hold
of each other
we stagger back
yes, obligated
by the truth & testify
of our hearts desire
i didn't find you
i stumbled upon you
like a suicidal unto a knife
the bleeding wrists & letters
of our love and loss
obligation...
so many times i shut my eyes to you
so many prayers (bowed head)
obligated...
first to God and then
to my own suffering
we are obligated
the hand of fate says
we will pay our dues
and the just reward?
well, i'll wake up tomorrow
no emptier, still not full
and you'll grace the morning
the afternoon and evening
a blessing
counted
and counted on
obligated....to this love

I can relate to this. Thank you.
i didn't find you
i stumbled upon you
like a suicidal unto a knife
the bleeding wrists & letters
of our love and loss
This verse echoes strongly. ^ |
