Deception Kicks In

Contributed by BurriedByMyLies on Sunday, 23rd October 2005 @ 06:06:20 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Finally, I don’t know you,
With a mind full of thoughts, they are your own,
But the moment I saw you,
Naive, it showed, I knew you had no clue,
But if only you had known,
That I’d have to end up confusing you...

You think you know me, but do you really,
My psyche, I show you dissemblingly,
I play with your head, what I reveal is untrue,
I have a different mask, for every one of you,
And when I put on the right one, deception kicks in,
Idiot! You’ll see what I’ve done, when you look within...

And so finally we talk,
Yes, now the true battle begins,
You’ll break, like a piece of chalk,
When faced with all my different skins,
All you’ll do is stare and gawk,
At my wicked mind, as it grins...

You think you know me, but do you really,
My psyche, I show you dissemblingly,
I play with your head, what I reveal is untrue,
I have a different mask, for every one of you,
And when I put on the right one, deception kicks in,
Idiot! You’ll see what I’ve done, when you look within...

Now you are where I want you,
I can cut open the thoughts in your mind,
And take what I want from you,
‘Cause you can’t even see me, worse than blind,
See, I knew that I’d break you,
Confuse you, like all the rest of your kind...

You think you know me, but do you really,
My psyche, I show you dissemblingly,
I play with your head, what I reveal is untrue,
I have a different mask, for every one of you,
And when I put on the right one, deception kicks in,
Idiot! You’ll see what I’ve done, when you look within...

Like all the ones before you,
You have promptly been victimized,
And now that you’ve agonized,
I just patiently discard you,
You don’t even realize,
What my mind has stolen from you...

When our battle began, I knew I’d be the winner,
‘Cause unlike yours, my mind is one of a deceiver,
And what you lacked, like all the others in fact,
Was a mind of your own,
But yours had cracked, and waited on mine to act,
Because of that, you’re thrown,
To exile, because of me, the manipulator,
And I want you to remember, I am the winner...

good lines, good rhymes, a little long winded in repeating the chorus as i would call it though..I would used the long original stanza once and take the two times that it is repeatd and changed those parts to something smaller, shorter, something that would make the change from stanza to stanza a little more smooth...such as instead of the entire stanza: "Another Mask ~ Deception kicks in",
and move on to the next stanza..just a thought, good job
