"What a Christian you are" she laughed
On that cold and lonely night
Denial overwhelmed my thoughts
Until I realized she was right
My heart was perverted and so was my soul
There's no way I deserve His love
So I fell on my knees, lifted up my hands
And said, "send Your anointing from above."
At that moment I felt relieved
I knew God had heard my prayer
I continued to say, "forgive me O Lord
For I know that you are there"
I broke down and apologized
Cause I know that I've done wrong
Christ said to me "Wipe your tears,
stand up, and now be strong"
He also said (as I felt ashamed)
"I hung on that cross for you
And anytime your skies turn gray
I'll turn them back to blue"
Amazed by His forgiving response, I asked
"Lord why are you so good to me?"
With a gentle voice, He simply replied
You were blind and now you see

excellent last stanza. true stories often are the best kind, so your next parts should just strengthen this piece. |
