He smiled, then crawled in my direction.
The ugliest boy I've ever seen
with a face so blue that it was almost green.
"Stop!" I cried, and searched for anything to throw his way.
There was only arrogence, and hostile wording,
so I tossed them with all the might I had left that day.
Bull's eye; I hit him hard,
and I've never seen a wound so large.
He lay there listless, in utter woe,
covered in cuts so deep, from head to toe.
They begged to be healed, by the words of a young love,
and that's one thing I regret being void of.
