Put on the Armour

Contributed by kandis on Wednesday, 19th October 2005 @ 01:13:47 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

You’re in a war, my Child,
It’s a battle between heaven & hell,
You decide which side you’re on,
In which place you wish to dwell.
It has already been determined,
Just who the winner will be in the end,
For the Bible clearly states,
Greater is He that’s within.
If you choose to be a soldier of mine,
I cannot promise it will be an easy task,
But I will give you the armour you need,
If from me, you will sincerely ask.
I supplied for you the helmet of salvation,
When I died on the cross for your sins,
And without this particular piece of armour,
There’s no way that you can possibly win.
Yet I give to you more than just one piece,
To help you along the way,
I give you the breastplate of righteousness,
But in the Spirit you must always pray.
Gird up your loins with the truth,
For evil will try to crowd your mind,
You must take up your shield of faith,
And tell Satan to “Get thee behind!”
Hold up your sword of the Spirit,
Which is my word that was written for you,
Shod your feet by preparing for the gospel of peace,
And through the battle, I will bring you through.
Be watching with perseverance,
Don’t give up without a fight,
Come boldly before the throne of God,
Be a good soldier with all of your might!
Be on guard for Satan’s tactics,
Be careful of which paths you choose to trod,
For if you want to be a WINNING soldier,
You must put on the whole armour of God.

I don't go to church as much as I should and I'm not too big on being a very religious person, but I must tell you that this was very creative. I liked the clever use of metaphors. Very nice.

Actually this much said, is a mouthful, but I will read it all:> What you have said, was my last comment, and am happy to see someone agrees with the Lord, and satan is powerless, (notice I did not capitalize his name), only fools recognize him, he has fallen, do not forget it, he lost, long ago, it is we who have heard the stories, and most continue to live out the untruths of the everlasting lies, I have on my armour, and He who strikes, strikes last, which is the supreme creator, God Himself, do not fear, the Father has already taken care of it, only our time is slower, so it appears as if He is deaf, but no, He hears, He heard, trust in Him, we won, I will see you in heaven for sure:>
