She barely pays bills
No extras or frills
There won't be a summer in Spain
No nights on the town
No elegant gown
Just troubles and problems and pain
You won't see her sad
It isn't that bad
She's got her sights square on the sky
Not easy to beat
She'll stand on her feet
And walk 'til she learns how to fly
She'll walk 'til she learns how to fly
A roll of the dice
To hell with the price
She'll just take a chance on her luck
She's nothing to lose
Just boredom and blues
A life that is running amuck
But one of these days
A change of the ways
Will take her to castles on high
She keeps her eyes wide
She lengthens her stride
And walks 'til she learns how to fly
She'll walk 'til she learns how to fly
In time she would find
That fate can be kind
Or ruthless with deadly intent
A friend or a foe
But who is to know
Which way that the line will be bent
She gave it her best
She faced every test
And never was frightened to try
A winner at heart
Who knew from the start
To walk 'til she learned how to fly
She walked 'til she learned how to fly

I don’t know this poem somehow looks empty. It looks like you forced your rhymes here. I did get the message you were trying to put out.
Hope you won't be mad.

Flowing and well-presented. I enjoyed it. I think poems written about others, where the author is invisible throughout the piece, are a type that allows for much insight and grace.
Nicely done.

I feel like I know her. She's certainly someone I'd want to have for a friend. Wonderful, Larry. Thank you for sharing your abundant talents with us.

I found this rather encouragin/inspiring not
sure if it was meant to be, but I thought it was.
Beautifully written for sure and I like the
repetition and rhyme. I haven't talked to you in
quite some time so I trust things are going
well withyou.

Wonderful and hopeful words that made my heart warm. As always Larry your poetry has an almost musical quality to it.
