brotherly love a word seldom used in my life
from the first day of birth i walked into strife
being born last in a large family world
known as an oops as the days slowly twirled
now i am old having been brought up alone
wondering the streets where i hung my pack i was home
now surrounded by family there lies finally show
told of my life and the world they had showed
i hear funny rumors of being brought up by you
they tell me everything that you said you do
like helping me along when i was out on the street
or guiding my life when i felt like defeat
this is to much to keep a straight face
your lies are old but told with such grace
still alone in this life still facing this strife
no one in my family knows my real life
how can you know me when i have been gone fifteen years
all you remember is my last parting tears
but alas my brother i still love you
even thou your word arnt true

Dear dear Regan, how I can relate to your poem, for I was a "oooppppssss" also and hated by my older brother. My Mother's favorite of course, having been raped by him while in 9th grade and telling my Father of his wicked deeds, my father looked at me and
said, "I wished you had never been born!"
I loved your poem Regan, so heartfelt and truthful from the heart of truth. I'm so glad you went on loving them for if you had not.....you would have ended up just like them.
What wonderful talent you have, with all the suffering of a true poet to back it up!
Keep up the good work! And know you can too forgive but never forget! I'm 68 and although that happened to me 50 years ago, I remember every detail........but have forgiven them all..........to be set free myself!
Warm love

Goodwrite-
I once read a passage ?
I do not remember from where-
"The ones we lovethe most always hurt us the most"-
To love and yet hate is a difficult task-
I hope things are well for you...
