My Autumn

Contributed by thumper on Monday, 17th October 2005 @ 08:28:04 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Pre-dawn. I step out on my porch
and shiver
The morning air is heavy with dew
and crisp
I breathe deep the earthy aroma
and sigh
Ears alert for an anticipated sound
finally rewarded
As gaze turns upwards to behold noisy geese
pointing south
Trees are showing twinges of shimmering golds
flaming reds
Squirrels are frantically burying hordes of food
to survive
It's October and Fall is here
I'm estatic!
Anticipation for the changing of seasons
delights me
So, for now, I just want to enjoy
my Autumn!

Very beautifull, serene write.
Here in Arkansas we are still having some Summers days or warm like Summer. It gets cool at night but exceptionally warm days.
huggs,
emy

Simply beautiful! Though I could see through your descriptive words, I do wish I could've seen through your eyes. Must be awesome.
Take care.

I'm there with you, just a trace of Summer to your right...

Love the rich descriptions, the clear and vivid imagery. Lucky you!

Spike
