I step through this world blindly
As one walking in my sleep
Always searching, never finding
But my heart is safe, it’s mine to keep
Eyes closed to possibilities
For with happiness, the pain will come
This path that I have chosen
May not be the chosen path for some
The miles, they stand between us
And the past returns to haunt
The twisted road continues
Each crossroad begins to taunt
If I turn toward one direction
What will I turn my head away from
This path that I have chosen
May not be the chosen path for some
With battle-worn determination
My mind begins to lead
If I step in the wrong direction
My soul will surely bleed
Stormy eyes stare back from the mirror
Who is this stranger I’ve become
This path that I have chosen
May not be the chosen path for some.

Good work here; it conveys your theme well. I hope you find a way to turn to a better path, for, to be honest, I've learned that fulfillment lies beyond all that pain that comes with happiness. Pain kind of has to be faced, but if you're willing to learn from it all, good things are in store. They really are.
Keep it up.
