Mad Cows And Birds

Contributed by remote on Sunday, 16th October 2005 @ 02:04:22 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

"Hi rat, did you hear about bird flu?"
"yeah, I heard, poor birds"
"Poor birds?!!"
"How many birds will die of flu?"
"Say poor us, sixty died last time"
"Sixty birds?"
"Which planet are you on? sixty humans"
"What's that got to do with poor birds?"
"They ate the bird with flu, and died"
"Oh! how many birds died of flu?"
"Birds didn't die of flu"
"What did they die of?"
"We had to kill them 'coz they had flu"
"So how many birds were killed?"
"Thousands"
"Thousands? aren't they killed everyday anyway?"

"Yeah, but that's different"

"Aah, that explains,
you kill millions of animals to eat them
now the poor chaps have flu,
so they get killed, but you won't eat them
so they still get killed anyway"
"Don't you see they've got flu-
we can't eat them anymore"
"So don't eat them, how many birds
did those sixty people eat before they died?"

"Arrgh, you're a crazy rat, have you heard of mad cow?"
"Why was cow mad?"
"Cow wasn't mad, it got mad cow disease"
"Oh! just one?"
"No thousands, and they had to be killed too"
"They would have been killed anyway, isn't it?"
"Yes, but we would have eaten them-
You know pigs got salmonella"
"Poor pigs"
"Say poor us, they are contagious"
"That would be if you ate them isn't it?
you people are sick, so don't eat
mad cows, birds, and pigs"
"You don't get it do you?"
"Yeah I get it, you'd kill mad animals,
but tell me what about people with flu?
and what about mad people like you?"

"But that's different, you know they eat rats in China..."
