Desire, you are my only love.

Contributed by Iodinelove on Sunday, 16th October 2005 @ 06:55:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

To desire.

It is in softly shaded stars breaching the edge of the moon, that i find the most love for you.
It is in a childhood memory that i find the most pain; in a dead cat in a brown
sack; in the endlessness of sand as I ran from my father towards an empty bay.

I have wanted so much.

I am twenty five years old, and I have had love in my bed, against the wall, on the floor. I have had love in showers, in cars, in black, fallen fields, and it has never been enough.
I have fought for this. I have yelled and screamed, ripped open my throat, slashed my arm, bled for this. I have cried for this. I have wanted this, and it has never been enough.

Desire you are my only love. Desire, it is you who crawls fingers down my back.
It is you who drinks deeply at my chest. It is you who bites my lip, you who kisses flesh, you who claims my face with time and tears.

It is you who falls in love.

It is not me.

I am captured by her grace, desire.
I am knelt in the shadow of her laughter.
I drink from the rivers of her life, desire,
but you; you only see her eyes; you only see her figure, her hair.
And I am taken by you, desire, and am consumed, and I begin to see.
And I begin to believe.

But you are wrong, desire.
There is more.
I find it when you release; when you spit her name; when you turn your back.
It is fallen from her. It is as bitter as her tears.
I find this, desire, this moment long ago, this memory.
And I am crushed. And I am guilt laughing crying shame.
Because I find that I was loved.

That I was loved.

It is you who protects me, desire.
And it is you who breaks my heart.

Good indeed! I was moved by this, by the profound understanding that it shows, and the excellent way in which that understanding is brought to light.

I'm glad to have read this.

Andrew
