The desert flower
In awe I stare at the desert flower,
blooming between dunes with indecent enthusiasm.
Feeding off its inner power,
defying nature’s instructions beyond fathom.
To solidarity confined amidst rolling waves,
the desert flower glows of orange and pink.
Sun stroking over its petals in abundant praise,
of the desert flower, refusing to sink.

Kudos for breaking out of your comfort zone with this one. I struggle with writing about the same crap over and over and can relate to wanting to try something new.
