I Got My Wish

Contributed by djs on Thursday, 13th October 2005 @ 04:03:07 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I got my wish,
she's done with me
i pushed her away
because of my insecurities

i got my wish,
i let the past control my thoughts
and now the only girl i want
is the one girl i lost

i got my wish,
i've protected myself from the unknown
but my selfish actions
have left me here alone

i got my wish,
because she can't break my heart
i refused to accept her comfort
and now i'm falling apart

i got my wish,
i let my scars guide the way
and now it's too late
i'm the epitome of a cliche

i got my wish,
but i wish i didn't
if i had one more chance
i wouldn't be so distant

i got my wish,
i'll keep my heart locked-up on a shelf
protected from everyone
everyone except myself

Nice job man...it's a very abused subject for a poem, but you made it a solid write despite that.

Looks like you have an outstanding audience of readers here. One thing I need to tell you is this, I get mixed up, and I try to get around to every writer, there are so many, so I will ask you a favor, to message me, let me know when you post, so I do not miss out. I ask a lot of writers to do that for me, and they do. You explain yourself very well, your speaking voice is loud, I encourage you to stay with writing. There has been many writers, dead and gone, that wrote in with depression, under the influence of drugs, alcohol, I do not say to write that way, but if you go to the library and begin to look up writers, you will see just which kind of individuals they were, and they had a large following.. Keep up this writing, you are alright, I especially like your style.. you got my attention, from your poem, this is my last write. I hope you continue on with this expertise style of writing.. you have a lovely pen.
