A Poem Before Work

Contributed by upomik on Wednesday, 12th October 2005 @ 11:47:10 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Yesterday was sad
Today is bad
Depression is back
No escaping that

Love is gone
Always wrong
Time for tears
Suicide cheers

I always lose
There's no excuse
No understanding
Comfort's always the same thing

Because I'm alone
No backbone
Death's my song
Been waiting so long

Friends are cool
But real easy to fool
Their perfect lives
Slaughter me with knives

Dreaming's overrated
It can't influence my fate
Everything's unclear
Confirming my hugest fears

Nightmares are real
I'm their nightly meal
Screams are my new piece
A well-deserved Grammy with ease

Reality's here
But I do not fear
Don't fight back what's the use?
I'll just lose

from the mouth of someone who's still fighting that dark fix...don't give in...and the perfect lives you see in your friends...you might try and look a little closer...cause maybe they are fooling you too

i feel as if you wrote this for me. i really connected with this poem. each day i wonder why i even bother to get out of bed, yet i do. i am sure there will be a happy ending for me down the road, and there is one waiting for you too. i guess the real test is whether we will get to experience it. don't give up on life yet - the world needs more talented writers like yourself.
