I Slowly Drown

Contributed by enjoiskating6 on Wednesday, 12th October 2005 @ 10:54:23 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

once upon a time i met a girl and fell in love,
found out i'de fall again and never get up,
well thats what i get for opening my heart
to a girl who knew just how to rip it apart.

i broke your picture that i hung in my mind,
crossed out your name in the notes that you signed,
found a gun that i aimed at the passing sky,
and shot your face in the clouds drifting by
because your everywhere i dont want you to be,
and in everything that i wish i could see

But i guess thats what loves for,
leaves you broken and bleeding on the bedroom floor,
with memories triggered ever step you take,
knowing full well that it was all just a fake.

and time is just a step toward crying more tears,
each drop releasing out all of your fears
and now television becomes your last resort,
but here comes more rain in the weather report
so break down...
slowly drown,
and sink down to the hell that i finally found.
so break down...
slowly drown,
and never rest in peace without a sound

well i guess it cant get worse than this,
drew a dotted line strait across my wrist,
but i have no knife to use for a cut,
you used everyone to drive it into my gut
so break down...
slowly drown,
and sink down to the hell that i finally found.
so break down...
slowly drown,
and never rest in peace without a sound.

Such a deep and emotional write. Time will heal your wounds. Don't block all love out or you will miss out on the good stuff it has to offer.

this is a great poem. i feel your pain, i've been there before. however, evening_star is right, don't let this one girl ruin what might come to you in the future. if you shut out all others, then you will end up lonely. i just did this with a girl and now i am really upset. i wrote a poem about it, it's called "i got my wish," check it out b/c it might save you pain in the future. peace.
