Life Instead

Contributed by unbreakable on Wednesday, 12th October 2005 @ 08:13:31 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Bound by lies and broken ties
On the floor, undone, she lies
Playing to averted eyes
No one hears her silent cries

And did you ever see her face
The memories she would erase
If she ever found her place
Or disappeared without a trace?

Recognize the web she weaves
Acknowledge those who she deceives
For in her heart, she still believes
In this world, maintained by thieves

She’d give anything to be alive
To have a goal for which to strive
A truth in which she could derive
A love for life from which to thrive

But broken souls don’t live to love
To have a hope, or rise above
A hindrance you know not of
Uncertainty is her heart’s glove

Used and thrown away, she’s dead
In nothingness she yearned to tread
Of all the things you could have said
You begged her to choose life instead

This really was well done, with a meticulous attention to rhyme, which is always a pleasure for me to read. It's nice to see poems of this quality around the site, very memorable piece. Easily relatable to myself as well. Excellent!

I like this. I know it is sad poetry but it had a happy ending to me. Life is worth living even if it is a sad life.

Krystal an outstanding piece of poetry written so well in every way. I like the way you presented this to ur reader. Absolutely sensational. A sad life is far better than no life. Well done Krystal.
*hugs*
Sue

Wow! So true of so many hopeless souls.
Love is the only answer, wouldn't you agree. God's Love
and compassion! Loved this write.
