My Lost Years

In the silent of night, a tear falls from my eye
as I remember memories of days gone by.
Memories that once were so real in my mind
but I surrender to my tears, as I try to find
the moments to my lost years.
Silently I retrace the steps of yesterday
I retread the path I took along the way.
Remembering my rights and all my wrongs,
I surrender to my tears, as I sing the songs
to the moments of my lost years.
Silent clouds cast over like shadows in my mind
laying gently down leaving the past far behind.
Sweetly the past holds so many a dream
I surrender to my tears, as I try to redeem
the moments to my lost years.
Soon the silent of night becomes the silent of morn'
as I remember how the memories lay so torn.
Memories once so warm but now grown so cold
I will surrender to my tears, as I try to hold
the moments to my lost years.

Great write! It is very touching and written so well. It flows very nicely...and you did a good job of bringing it together at the end. Very well written, keep it up!
