I can see you,
I know you’re there.
I can see everything you’re doing,
but all you do is sit and stare.
What are you hiding from?
What is it that you don’t want to touch?
Is it something that you don’t want to feel?
How long has this cage been here?
This glass cage isn’t keeping you safe.
from whatever you’re frightened of.
Can’t you see what this is doing to you?
Just open the door, let me through.
Just because it’s a solid wall,
doesn’t mean nothing can get to you at all.
Can you feel me loving you?
I used to think that when you were beside me,
that you could read my mind.
I could feel our souls intertwine,
but where did you go?
I can’t feel you anymore…
Where is your soul?
Is it hiding away?
This glass cage isn’t keeping you safe,
from whoever you’re trying to keep away.
Can’t you see what this is doing to you?
Can you feel me loving you?
How hard must I pound on these walls?
Don’t you even want to break out of the cage
then this glass will break, shatter, and fall.
I don’t like what’s happening to you,
I don’t know what to do.
How can I let you know?
When I never knew…
Did you ever really love me?
Did you ever really care?
This glass cage won’t forever keep you safe,
from the feelings you can’t seem to face.
Can’t you see what this is doing to you?
Just open the door, let me through.
just because it’s a solid wall,
doesn’t mean nothing can get to you at all.
Can you feel me loving you?
What do you want me to say?
Why dp you try so hard to still push me away?
Was it so wrong to believe you would stay?
Did you really mean those words “I love you.”
