Say the Word

Contributed by UnfallenTears on Monday, 10th October 2005 @ 01:07:01 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Say the word
Bring these stolen dreams crashing down
Crack the utopian sky and watch it fall
In black tear's waters, watching yesterday drown

Hear your rehearsed sentiments reach innocent ears
Silence bleeds as the forsaken cry
Tomorrow's strangers fade into an empty promise
Quiet sounds as the innocence dies

Hear the foundation crumble
Emotion breaks through this hollow hello
Say the words, blasphemous credulity
The dreamer's rescue lost in purity's shadow

Silent, these souls who cried into the blackness
Internal screams never heard
Innocent eyes bleed tears, pleading you not to
Say the word

Well constructed! I love the way you use the beginning phrase at the end, but with the opposite desire. Well done.
Take care.
