venetian blinds
blinking, winking
maidens swimming
naked and giddy
happiness in
Venice tonight
grapes and raspberries
murmuring with joy
a deep breath
a quick moment
a short dream
a terse death
her amber hair
scorched with pain
her last breath
vanished
dew on her body
as sunlight
envelops the land
gardens are hushed
peaches, apples
silenced at the sight
amidst the poplars and pines
her body was strewn
an orthodox man
a tailor
his shears stained red
his testament of death
