Silent watchmen stalk the night,
Predators by birth,
We circle them with wary eye,
Giving them wide girth.
We have many fears,
And by them we're o'erpowered.
Now, by means unseen our foes
Grow stronger by the hour.
We wallow in our despair,
For our hearts this grief does wound.
So few are left to bear this pain,
So many we've entombed.
Harboring this travesty,
We smile and laugh and sing-
Our smile macabre, our laugh in pain
Our song a hollowed ring.
We dance with the skeletons
Of shadowed pasts and dreams.
All dignity we had is lost,
Smote by Evil's regime.
Now we are naught but shadows,
Broken by consuming sorrow.
We pray for gentle Death to come
With the dawn of 'morrow...
