I sit in deep breath and stare at the wall,
my heart crashes against my chest,
I run a hand over my furrowed brow,
i should have studied, should have listened,
for knowledge is power,
yet so many end up the same way,
without work there is no purpose,
no self satisfaction, no moving from day to day,
I sit twenty deep outside his office,
the oldest by double,
slim chances now fading away.

Poignant and honest write maam. Open and honest about something that worries us all-especially as time educates us.
